My impact at Gallup

As a specialist in one of our interviewing call centers, I work to find a balance between fulfilling our daily interviewing needs and collecting excellent data while meeting the needs and talents of individuals.

My career path at Gallup

I accepted an interviewing internship at Gallup, which led to a full-time opportunity after six months. I chose to work at Gallup because I knew my career would allow me to use my strengths on a daily basis and give me opportunities to constantly grow and develop professionally.

My current role centers on meeting the needs of our survey interviewers and the various studies we have in the field. When interviewers work on surveys that they are most successful on, they have a greater tendency to be engaged in the workplace and perform at much higher levels. Striking that equilibrium between people and projects is a challenge, but success comes in the form of great productivity.

Every day, I get a chance to manage a new situation and help Gallup achieve its mission. For example, I serve as a leader for my call center's participation in conducting surveys for the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index project. To make this massive health and wellness survey succeed on a daily basis, we need to complete 1,000 surveys each day. With five interviewing locations responsible for teaming up to reach this goal, I am faced with numerous unique issues that are simultaneously taxing and intensely rewarding. Completing these surveys each day helps us gauge the pulse of our nation as it relates to political, economic, and well-being perspectives, which is truly groundbreaking.

In addition to this wide-ranging project, I also work as leader for my call center's involvement with many client survey projects, one of which is for a leading national financial service company. The surveys we complete for this client cover issues ranging from online banking to student loans, and we directly affect this client's business outcomes through our data and our research.

Gallup's culture

Gallup's culture is built on understanding individuals' strengths, fostering great relationships, pushing the boundaries of our industry, and emphasizing measurement and growth. Those features are inextricably dependent on one another, as each adds to the overall success of the company. The openness and accessibility make every employee feel involved and personally invested in the well-being and future of Gallup.
