Bernadine Partner, Practice Leader
My impact at Gallup

I work to improve the level of employee engagement in the federal government. I help link people to each agency's mission, as well as help federal government agencies think about leveraging their employees to use their strengths and do what they do best every day. As a previous foreign national, my mission has been to improve the quality and impact of the U.S. government and ensure the best people stay in government service. My long-term objective is to improve the level of employee engagement in the federal government one leader, one manager, and one employee at a time.

My career path at Gallup

I started at Gallup as a research analyst more than a decade ago. I came here because I recognized the company was different from some of the other typical management-consulting firms I was exposed to while working on my master's degree. I knew I wanted to work with the federal government, and I felt Gallup was a place where I could come in and innovate, which would be the best fit for my talent. I have gained experience and expertise and now serve as a partner and a practice leader in our organization.

Through my job I am able to live and breathe the missions of some of the most important government agencies in the country. Their objectives are not to increase profit or stock value; they must improve the quality of life for Americans and ensure that our interests are protected both domestically and globally. I strive to make a difference by improving the brand of each federal agency -- both externally and internally. For example, the secretary of one government agency asked me to speak to his entire SES leadership group -- more than 300 individuals -- about their role in engaging employees. I told them about Gallup's research, strategies, and ideas on how to make a positive impact on their employees and inspire change in behavior at the local level.

I work to ensure that as a company we create more clarity and consistency across our work with all of our federal clients. I also continue to develop new client relationships and grow my existing partnerships to advance Gallup's sciences and consultative services within the federal government. Ultimately, I strive to be engaged in my job and to make a difference in the world.

My hobbies

I love to play golf. I also enjoy traveling, being a citizen of the world, and being a self-proclaimed cultural ambassador for Gallup. My family is very important to me. My husband and I enjoy wine tasting, foreign films, and playing with our two children. Gallup's culture allows me to experience an optimal work-life integration.
