My role is to manage the Gallup Federal Credit Union and protect the safety and soundness of this institution. I make the strategic decisions that will affect the future of the credit union. More importantly, these decisions affect how our members use the credit union and its services. Additionally, I get to help Gallup's employees make good financial decisions and help them improve their financial life.
My career path at Gallup
I joined Gallup as an interviewer while I was a sophomore in college. As I neared graduation, I was looking for a career in finance. There was an opening in the credit union at Gallup, and after talking with several people, I knew this was the place for me. I was able to stay with a company I was familiar with and knew had a great future.
I feel challenged every day and have the opportunity to use my talents to positively affect peoples' lives. Depending on the day, I am a loan officer, member service representative, collector, accountant, sales person, CFO, CEO, teller, financial advisor, and much more. This variety of responsibilities and interactions is one of my favorite aspects of my career at Gallup.
It is all about the people for me, and one of the best things about my career is that I am able to give advice that is in the best interest of our members, regardless of whether it is good for the credit union. The other credit union employees and I help members determine the best decisions for their financial situations, instead of just stamping loan approvals and denials. Our mission is to help Gallup's employees succeed in reaching their financial goals.
My hobbies
I love to spend time and play with my two sons. I also enjoy golfing and playing cards.
