I design, communicate about, and oversee the implementation of the data warehouse for Gallup's reporting systems. I work with our database development team to organize our design documentation, establish coding standards, and conduct code reviews.
My career path at Gallup
I started as a developer for Gallup's financials software program. I helped implement our financials system in Gallup's offices outside of the United States. I also upgraded and migrated our system to new versions and platforms, and I was involved in the early evolution of our database development team. I've helped establish software development standards and processes and communicated the purpose and design of these to wider audiences.
I'm expected to design solutions that solve problems and integrate well with the existing architecture. I'm also responsible for the critical communication during the projects. If I don't effectively communicate the fine details of designs, essential features will be lost or poorly implemented. It is crucial that I help my partners and clients navigate down the best path.
Gallup's culture
A friend referred me to Gallup, and I was immediately attracted to the company's culture and the strengths science. The close friendships I've made and the level of talent the people I work with possess are important to me. Also, Gallup consistently gives me opportunities to learn and challenge myself, and provides genuine and meaningful recognition. Our work in the areas of employee and workplace engagement, healthcare and patient engagement, and public polling makes me feel that my efforts are important.
