Jessica Practice Manager,
Employee Engagement
My impact at Gallup

I am paid to help think about the future direction of our research, operations, sales, and consulting as they relate to the employee engagement consulting division of our organization.

My career path at Gallup

I earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics, a master's degree in educational leadership, an M.B.A. in management, and a doctorate in educational leadership. I spent the first 10 years of my career as a teacher, coach, and administrator working with high school and middle school students and teachers. While working on my dissertation on student and teacher engagement, a Gallup recruiter spoke to my M.B.A. class at Texas Christian University. She shared Gallup's extensive research and consulting work in the area of employee engagement and 18 months later I was here at Gallup.

I started my career as an engagement manager working with clients in the education industry. My role allowed me to work with clients and lead research-based, multi-practice projects in school districts across the country. I then started my current role as practice manager for the employee engagement practice where I help set our research and development agenda, work with our client service teams to strategize about our tools and best practices, and work closely with our operations teams to make sure we are executing efficiently. Recently, I've spent time working with internal technology and operations teams to build dynamic reporting options for our clients. This includes increasing the speed of delivery and the quality of data visualization for our customers.

I will continue to help our client teams and the organizations we work with to understand how to drive engagement at the local and organizational levels. I love developing and refining our employee engagement consulting practice and will broaden my role in our business development efforts. One of the things I love most about Gallup is that I can define my own path.

My hobbies

I love teaching, so the favorite moments of my workday are when I can help someone else to be even better in what he or she does. As for at home, I love family time -- going to the park for a picnic, biking, and spending time outdoors doing anything with my children and husband.
