Selection Process
This is not your typical interview process.
Gallup is not your typical employer.
Gallup is committed to setting you up for success. We design our selection process to understand who you are and what you are good at, so we can match you with the right position at Gallup.
Since 1969, Gallup has studied the relationships between talent and job performance. By studying success in each role, we uncover those talents, or patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behavior, that help individuals achieve excellence in performance and productivity.
Conventional hiring processes rely solely on an assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, and work experience. While these factors are important to our hiring decision, we also assess talent because it allows us to more accurately predict your future success at Gallup.
Everyone has a unique set of talents. Therefore, our goal is to understand your talents so we can find the role at Gallup that gives you the opportunity to do what you do best every day.
This hiring process is thorough. The interviews will challenge you to think about the talents that come most naturally to you, and talk about how you apply them in your life. Finding that right fit demands our time and energy as well as yours.
We choose to invest in the best.

Online Assessment
Gallup is well known for designing Web-based talent assessments for organizations across the world. Our own selection talent assessment is different than any other strengths-based tool we have created.
We have studied our most successful employees to truly understand the talent profiles that are predictive of high performance and productivity for reach role at Gallup. While some of our other Web-based strengths tools help individuals discover and describe their most dominant strengths, Gallup’s online assessment helps us learn more about your specific talents in regard to a particular career path at Gallup.
You can only complete the online application and assessment once, so please answer the questions honestly and carefully. You will be able to indicate your interest in more than one opportunity. If you are a finalist, we will discuss additional locations at that time. You will have the ability to log in to your account at any time to apply for additional career opportunities.
To complete the Web-based talent assessment:
- Click the Gallup Online Talent Assessment link on page seven of the online application.
- This is an important factor in your candidacy, so please allot 30 to 40 minutes to complete the assessment in one sitting.
- Do not use your Web browser's Back or Forward buttons during the assessment, as the information you have entered will be lost.
- Once you have completed the online process, you will receive confirmation of your application to Gallup. Due to the competitive nature of our open roles, please allow 1-4 weeks for Gallup to review your candidacy.

In-Depth Telephone Interview
Let's talk about your talents.
In an effort to understand your unique set of talents, and based on more than 30 years of research, we have developed an array of structured telephone interviews to align candidates with job opportunities at Gallup. Much like the online assessment, we designed these in-depth interviews to help us learn about the talents that come most naturally to you and how you have applied them in your life.
We will be assessing your fit for the role and your alignment with Gallup. It is our goal to find a position at Gallup where you can be successful and engaged in your work.
-
Invitation to interview with Gallup
-
- If the information on your application and results from your online assessment warrant further consideration, you will receive an e-mail inviting you to proceed with a telephone interview.
- Please follow the instructions in that e-mail to schedule your telephone interview.
- The interviews vary in length, but usually take 30 to 60 minutes. Depending on the job you have applied for, we may ask you to complete more than one telephone interview.
-
-
On the day of your interview
-
- Please find a quiet location where you can speak freely.
- Many candidates have found it helpful to reserve a conference room at their office or a study room at the library in which to conduct the interview.
- Using a landline phone greatly reduces the chance of a dropped call or static interfering with the interview; however, if you must use a cell phone, please do so in an area where the reception is clear.
-
-
Who is asking the questions?
-
A certified Gallup Talent Analyst will call you at the scheduled time to conduct your interview. We have an international team of analysts who have been employed at Gallup for an average of more than 13 years. Because we train our analysts to properly conduct and review the interviews, they know how to carefully listen to the answers you provide
-
What happens next?
After the telephone interview is complete, the analyst will outline the next step in your interview process, which may be an additional telephone interview or an in-person interview with a hiring manager.

In-Person Interview
The Final Step
After reviewing your application, online assessment, and telephone interview(s), we will notify you of the status of your candidacy. If you are a finalist for the position, a recruiter or talent coordinator will contact you to arrange for an in-person interview with the hiring manager for your role. In addition, you may meet with other Gallup associates who hold positions similar to the one you are applying for or who partner with someone in your role.
The in-person interview format is similar to a traditional in-person interview setting. You will meet face to face with our local hiring managers and team members. During the in-person interview you will have the opportunity to ask detailed questions about the role and learn more about Gallup. The in-person interview process is designed to allow our hiring managers to learn more about your talents and experience to discern if there is a great fit for you within the desired career path.
-
What to expect
-
- A more clearly defined description of the position that we are considering you for
- A chance to learn more about your potential role, team, and manager
- An opportunity to share more about your experience, expertise, and interests

- Answers to any outstanding questions you may have about Gallup, the position, logistics, or the selection process
-
-
After the in-person interview
-
Following your interview, the hiring manager will carefully consider how you might best contribute to Gallup. He or she will then notify you of the status of your candidacy and outline any further steps you may need to take.
