I am a partner and senior managing research director in Gallup's government division. I am responsible for identifying business opportunities and preparing proposals and bids to win government contracts. As managing research director, I also play a role in overseeing the execution of projects, providing technical solutions to problems, and building relationships with our clients.
My career path at Gallup
Prior to joining Gallup, I spent more than 10 years at the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago as a senior research director and special assistant to the senior vice president for survey research. Additionally, I've worked at several universities and colleges as a faculty member and research associate. And I've authored or co-edited multiple books, as well as numerous articles, monographs, technical and methodological reports, and scientific papers.
I joined Gallup in 1996 as a vice president and managing research director with more than 20 years of experience in designing and administering customized surveys using several methodologies. Most of my current work focuses on providing customized survey and marketing research to government agencies across many federal departments. For example, in one of our client organizations, we are heavily involved in several of their quantitative and qualitative research programs. In addition, we provide this organization with consultation and strategic advice to guide and evaluate its ongoing marketing efforts for various products.
For another of our government clients, we designed a state-of-the-art Web-based data-capturing system to evaluate its customers' feedback and to assess the quality of this program as different users view it. For other clients, we currently provide expert consultation in redesigning survey questionnaires and sampling plans and conducting surveys for program users.
I love being a trusted advisor to these government agencies. I like to stay close to the project work, as it provides me with an opportunity to grow and to learn more about our clients' needs and concerns.
My hobbies
I'm an active person. I love to cycle, run, and walk. I also love horses; I've spent more than 15 years studying the equestrian arts and participating in show jumping. Dance is another one of my passions. I took up Argentinean tango and Latin salsa when I moved to Washington, D.C., which has led me into the world of international dance.
