School Culture

Research indicates that successful schools differ from less successful schools in simple but profound ways. First, they celebrate - often. Successful schools foster an atmosphere that encourages students and teachers to take risks, then celebrate each and every victory. These schools create a climate of excitement, fun, and joy that acknowledges even the smallest achievement.

Second, leaders of successful schools build a team culture. By recognizing the talents of staff and faculty and celebrating their contributions, schools create an atmosphere of social trust. Team members appreciate each other's strengths and share in one another's successes. In doing so, faculty, staff, and leaders move beyond being just coworkers - they become colleagues and friends.
