The spread of globalization around the world has brought different societies into greater contact. Now, political differences and cultural tensions between societies present business and political leaders with complex problems. These problems require global stakeholders and organizations to understand societal undercurrents across cultures and countries. Accurate information, grounded in scientifically-based evidence, can help leaders to overcome many of the challenges they currently face. Courses and programs developed by Gallup's Social & Economic Analysis division equips leaders with the knowledge and skills to address serious problems in a meaningful way.

What Muslims Think
New Insights From Gallup's Worldwide Research

What do Muslims say about their own hopes and dreams? Is Islam compatible with basic women's rights to education, employment, voting, and election to office? Is Islam compatible with democracy? What can the West do to improve relations with the Muslim world? What can Muslims/the Muslim world do to improve relations with the West?

Gallup University's certification course What Muslims Think answers these and many other questions, providing access to the thoughts and views of more than 1 billion Muslims in nearly 40 predominantly Muslim countries around the globe - the largest, most in-depth study of Muslim opinion ever done. Through a data-driven dialogue, course participants are encouraged to discuss the information, analyze, and draw conclusions about the findings and the implications for their own work, and are led down a path of discovery about the Muslim world that is expected to continue beyond the classroom.

The course presents a historical and current-day view of the Muslim world, providing cultural context to the current thoughts and opinions of Muslims worldwide.

When the course is completed, participants will be able to:

• understand the context for analyzing and interpreting the significance of the data collected by Gallup, as well as apply the new knowledge and insights to their professional projects
• draw their own conclusions from the data and apply the meaningful findings to their own professional contexts
• critique, with new data, assumptions they encounter about the Muslim world
• feel an increased comfort level with reading and interpreting data
• feel comfortable discussing the findings with others, including members of the media

• John L. Esposito, author, Gallup Senior Scientist, and Georgetown University Professor of Religion and International Affairs and of Islamic Studies

With sufficient advance notice, we are able to provide the course on an exclusive basis to a grouping of your choice (at least 15 participants) at your site or at any of our Gallup campus locations, including London, Singapore, and Washington, D.C.
