Johnny C. Taylor Jr.

President and CEO, Thurgood Marshall College Fund

Johnny C. Taylor Jr. is the President and CEO of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF). TMCF is the only national organization representing the country's 47 public historically black colleges and universities and the 300,000 students matriculating on their campuses. As a Gallup Senior Adviser, Mr. Taylor serves on Gallup's executive board; he also provides guidance and advice to the company's global human resource practice and to its clients and client teams.

Mr. Taylor travels the world extensively as a business leadership speaker and human resource thought leader. He is frequently sought out by national and international media outlets, including the "TODAY Show," the "CBS Evening News," CNBC, Reuters, HR Magazine, TIME, FORTUNE, and The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Taylor, an accomplished keynote speaker, has presented to audiences ranging from 100 to more than 13,000 in the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, and South Africa.

Prior to assuming the presidency of TMCF, Mr. Taylor worked as a senior executive for IAC/InterActiveCorp, first as its senior vice president of human resources and then as the president and CEO of one of IAC's operating subsidiaries. Before joining IAC, Mr. Taylor was a partner in the McGuireWoods LLP law firm and general counsel and corporate secretary of Compass Group USA. He has also served in several senior human resources and legal executive roles with Viacom subsidiaries and with Blockbuster.

Mr. Taylor is past chairman of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the largest association devoted to human resource management, with more than 250,000 members in more than 140 countries, Mr. Taylor also volunteers his time to several not-for-profit and charity boards, including the YMCA of the USA, the country's largest social service agency; the University of Miami's President's Council; and the Center for Military and Private Sector Initiatives.

Mr. Taylor received his bachelor's degree in communication with general honors from the University of Miami. He received his master's degree in mass communication with honors from Drake University. He received his doctor of jurisprudence with honors from the Drake University Law School, where he served as research editor of the Drake Law Review and argued on the National Moot Court team. He is a member of the bar in Florida, Illinois, and Washington, D.C. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by SHRM.
