A recent
USA Today/Gallup poll shows that most Americans don't expect to receive an inheritance. But among the 28% of U.S. adults who do expect to be heirs, the majority expect a windfall of $100,000 or more. In contrast to respondents' expectations about receiving an inheritance, the poll also shows that 72% of Americans think they will have some money or valuable possessions to pass on to family members in the future.
