Nearly three times as many Chinese and Indians say the same
Amid an ongoing debate in the U.S. on immigration from Mexico, Gallup estimates 6.2 million Mexican adults would like to move permanently to the United States if given the chance. That number is significantly less than the estimated 22.9 million adults who would come from China and 17.1 million from India.

In 25 out of 151 nations, at least half of adults are dissatisfied
Gallup surveys in 151 countries and areas reveal local water quality is a problem for as many as 1.3 billion of the world's adults. People's dissatisfaction with the quality of water in their communities ranges from a high of 78% in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to less than 1% in Singapore.

But a median of just 40% think the election outcome matters to them
When Gallup asked Africans across 22 countries who they would personally rather see as the next president of the United States, a median of 56% favored Barack Obama, while just 9% chose John McCain.

Only religious organizations elicit the trust of a majority
A 2007 Gallup Poll shows that relatively few Ethiopians express confidence in their country’s social and political institutions. Further, Ethiopians are less likely to express confidence in their institutions than their neighbors in sub-Saharan Africa.
