August 15, 2007A February 2007 Gallup World Poll survey finds that more than 8 in 10 Australians believe the city or area where they live is a good place for immigrants, while a similar percentage of Australians say their communities are good places for racial and ethnic minorities to live. More than three-quarters of respondents say their communities are good places for religious minorities, while more than two-thirds (68%) of Australians say their communities are good places for gay or lesbian people.

Just 25% of Hispanics satisfied
August 15, 2007Americans are now more likely to say they are dissatisfied than satisfied with the way immigrants are treated in society, and the current ratings are the worst Gallup has measured for any group in the last seven years. Hispanics and blacks are especially likely to express displeasure with the treatment of immigrants in the United States. Americans are most likely to say they are satisfied with they way Asians and women are treated.
