Gallup and the Walton Family Foundation’s newest Teaching for Tomorrow research unpacks teachers’ perceptions and opinions about screens in the classroom. The survey reveals teachers have mixed feelings, neither rejecting devices nor fully embracing them. More than half say parts of today’s curriculum can’t be properly taught without them, yet most believe students should spend less time on them during the school day.

Teachers see value in classroom technology but remain cautious about how much it contributes to learning. Concerns about distraction are particularly pronounced among high school teachers. At the same time, teachers show limited enthusiasm for strict screen-time caps, pointing instead toward a more nuanced approach to how devices are used and managed in schools.
