Strengths and Startups: The Importance of Mindfulness

Webcast Details

  • Gallup Called to Coach Webcast Series
  • Season 2, Episode 18
  • Learn how important mindfulness of your own talents is in your coaching from a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach who works with startups.

On the latest Called to Coach: Southeast Asia Edition, we spoke with Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Belle Lockerby. Belle is the founder of rise 365, a not-for-profit focused on business incubation and startups.

When her first child was born, Belle hired a life coach to help her manage the new changes in her life. After discovering the CliftonStrengths assessment and learning about her own strengths, Belle wanted to help others the same way her coach had helped her.

Belle sees her work as incredibly rewarding, especially when she observes someone's transformation via strengths-based development. She shared a story in which a client wanted to maximize her productivity in a sales role. Through the discovery and development of her strengths, this individual received several promotions, and even began referring other people to receive strengths coaching from Belle. This ripple effect speaks of the impact that strengths can have, and how individuals want to see others experience that transformation as well.

Balancing Work and Home Life

Some working women struggle to successfully balance work life and home life. Belle says that although the circumstances are different for everyone, it's important to establish your goals and expectations both at home and in the office. Start by having conversations with your superiors at your job, and your family at home. By establishing and understanding your goals, you will have a better understanding of where your priorities should be at a given time.

Belle Lockerby's Top 5 CliftonStrengths are Connectedness, Relator, Futuristic, Strategic and Ideation.
