Gallup conducted this study, which was sponsored by Wells Fargo, in order to gain insight into the experiences of U.S. small business owners across diverse segments, including race, ethnicity, gender, veteran status and sexual orientation. The main objective of the study was to understand the credit and other financial needs of diverse segments to better serve them as small business customers. This study covers three main topic areas: life as a small business owner, funding a small business and the small business owner lending experience. The analysis in this paper focuses on the women-owned segment.
