Using their mission and purpose coupled with the Q12 as a guiding light, leaders formed strategic plans to quickly adapt their communication, management style, development, support and even the core patient care experience to meet the demands of a global pandemic. Their 130 professional staff members and 450 volunteers went to great lengths to create the best care for their patients and their families, including creating performance improvement teams to evaluate and enhance communication with patients and families who were unable to visit in person. In addition, Cedar Valley Hospice doubled down on the education and development of all employees, which led to a successful year by measured key metrics even when compared to other, less challenging years.
