Karsten (pronounced CARE-sten) Jensen grew up in Roseville, MN and later Brainerd, MN before attending the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and a minor in French Studies. A musician since the age of 5, Karsten still plays music with her family in Grace Notes Classical Trio, and chose to pursue arts nonprofit administration after college before she happily and accidentally ended up in banking in 2017 at Choice Bank. She currently loves her role as the Organizational Effectiveness Specialist at Choice Bank, a community bank with locations in MN and ND, where she gets to develop the company culture and leadership of team members in a strengths-based environment.
Karsten took the CliftonStrengths assessment in 2018 and was delighted to discover the freedom to focus on what she was already good at (organization and strategic thinking), instead of struggling to become the outgoing salesperson she thought she was "supposed to be." Karsten became a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach in 2020 and brings energy and passion to every conversation with clients, friends, and family about the Strengths. Her favorite moments in coaching conversations are helping others discover that traits they think they need to change can be advantages. She loves helping others see their natural talents as beautiful, valuable traits that can be developed into strengths to embrace and use every day.
Aside from CliftonStrengths, Karsten is passionate about health, wellness, spirituality, and personal development. Outside of coaching, she can be found doing yoga, running, cooking paleo recipes, listening to audio books and podcasts, spending time with family, and going on long walks with her husband, Josh. Karsten and Josh, a financial and strategy consultant, live in Minneapolis.
