James Oliver, MSA, SHRM-SCP

James founded Positive Worth (positiveworth.io) in 2017 as a pipe dream. He wanted to help others find holistic value by focusing on the areas of field, finance, family and faith. He is a people-focused professional with a diverse background in both for-profit and nonprofit fields; including healthcare human resources, education and design. An out of the box thinker, problem solver and decision maker, he seeks to integrate the needs of employees with the mission of the organization. He believes every business initiative should start with “how will this make the people experience better?” James is passionate about team development and has a strong record of developing and promoting from within.

As a Human Resources leader, James believes every organization should strive for employee well-being through a holistic work-life integration. He seeks to role-model this approach by unplugging at scheduled times each week to focus on his faith, family and fitness.

James has held multiple HR leadership roles in healthcare ranging from single-site through multi-state. He's a Senior Certified Professional with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM-SCP), a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, holds a BS in Industrial Design from Walla Walla University, and a MSA in Organization Management from Andrews University. He likes to call his MSA a “MBA with a greater focus on people and a lesser focus on accounting.”

While at Andrews he was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta business honors society, and was given the Graduate Teamwork Award for his ability to collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds and consistently promote effective group interactions.
