Dr. Vicky Goodin is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and Leadership Consultant. For over 30 years, Vicky has dedicated herself to helping individuals and teams develop to their fullest potential in higher education and business. She has developed and conducted training courses for higher education and industry in the areas of professional and career development, leadership development, team building and communication. These sessions include strategic planning and goal setting, time and stress management, and personal and executive coaching. Additionally, she has served as an executive university administrator, presented at national and regional professional conferences, and served as a university instructor for several undergraduate and graduate courses throughout her 30-year career.
She understands organizational culture from all levels, including senior-level administration. Having served in these capacities has given her the well-rounded perspective in understanding personnel issues from different positions within organizations, including recruitment, team training, goal setting and retention. She utilizes her experience in executive roles both in education and business to develop teams using multiple non-cognitive assessments, strategies and professional training designed specifically for employee engagement. She has developed and implemented hundreds of face-to-face organizational training sessions and planned executive leadership and student retreats. She understands the challenges facing both managers and employees. She has spent a lifetime creating workplace environments where employees felt valued, appreciated and respected for their contributions to the organization.
Vicky earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Longwood University, Farmville, Virginia and a Master’s degree in Counseling and Development from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. She completed her doctoral work earning an EdD in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University.
Opening the doors to VLO Consulting in 2009, Vicky has focused her energy with team training in all areas of leadership. However, following her passion to help organizations discover their true talents to create positive work cultures, she trained with the Gallup organization in London (2019). She has been certified as one of the 18,000 global coaches certified in CliftonStrengths.
