Dr. Gerome Stephens is a Senior Managing Strategy Consultant at Georgia Tech, where he partners with leaders on complex initiatives involving organizational effectiveness, student success, educational access, culture, and change. In this role, he helps teams bring clarity to challenging problems, align people and strategy, and translate ambitious ideas into practical, sustainable action.
Before joining Georgia Tech Strategic Consulting in 2023, Gerome spent more than a decade leading student engagement at Georgia Tech, including serving as Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Center for Student Engagement. Across more than 20 years in higher education, he has led teams, developed emerging leaders, built new programs, and helped organizations create stronger and more meaningful experiences for the people they serve.
Gerome has been a certified Gallup CliftonStrengths coach since 2009. His coaching and facilitation work focuses on helping individuals better understand how they lead, communicate, build relationships, and contribute to a team. He works with leadership teams, professional staff, and organizations to apply strengths in practical ways—improving collaboration, navigating differences, developing authentic leaders, and creating cultures where people can thrive.
In addition to his work at Georgia Tech, Gerome has designed and facilitated leadership and team-development experiences for corporate, educational, and nonprofit organizations, including KPMG and WestRock. His external consulting brings together CliftonStrengths, organizational culture, mattering, team effectiveness, and change leadership to create experiences that are reflective, engaging, and immediately applicable.
Gerome earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Organizational Development from the University of Louisville. His research examined the relationship between institutional strategy and organizational culture, an area that continues to shape his work with leaders and teams today.
