Sobre LaShante Walker

Who am I: I am a visionary leader, a mother, a teacher, an entrprenuer, a mentor and a coach. I motivate and inspire others to meet their goals through self discovery and strategic planning of their professional path.

What is my background: I graduated from Arkansas State University with a BA in Political Science in 1999, which led me into non-profit work and banking and finance. After several years of working in banking and finance, I transitioned for a short while into higher education and working more closely with a non-profit organization. In 2003, I made the decision to work from home to raise my growing family and owned several successful home-based businesses for seven years. During that time, I also became an ordained minister and gained experience working with faith-based organizations and communities. In 2010, my learner strength, coupled with my desire to expand my work with faith based organizations, led to my pursuit of a master's degree in Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University. My learner strength was also evident in my completion of the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership to obtain my terminal degree in 2015 from Lipscomb University.

What I do: I am a small business owner and educational leader. I formerly served as the provost at a college, and for nearly a decade, I trained, managed and provided ongoing support to academic units and faculty. During my time in the academy, I taught leadership courses which included Strengths-Based Leadership principles as a foundational guide to help students find their areas of strength to use in leadership roles. This positive experience, of seeing students transformed by learning their strengths and how they could be leveraged to help them become great leaders, led me to learn more about becoming a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. I desired to seek my Gallup certification to expand my reach beyond the classroom, to help educators, faith leaders, and business leaders become further developed in their role as leaders. Today, I am the CEO and President of Walker Vision Consulting Inc (wvconsultinginc). As a full-time entreprenuer, I have the opportunity to provide executive coaching services, Strengths-Based coaching, leadership development, and DEIB training to individuals and organizations across the United States.

What I can offer you: My desire is to share the Gallup Strengths approach on a wider scale to help career professionals and leaders achieve the professional and life goals they envision. I have successfully coached leadership teams, business leaders, students, staff, faculty, administrators, and faith-based organizations.
