Singapore’s Engagement Gap: How Leaders Can Turn Engagement Into Performance

Kanika Singh is Gallup’s regional business development director for clients in Southeast Asia and Japan. She leads a team that works with organisations to strengthen business performance and achieve their goals. Kanika also advises Gallup clients on workplace management practices and how those practices affect business performance. She has extensive experience applying Gallup’s strengths and employee engagement research to support and manage consultants who work with Gallup clients to solve their business challenges. Kanika is a regular keynote speaker at many HR community gatherings and large HR events across Southeast Asia, including SHRI events, World HR Congress, HR Tech Festival and more. She has published multiple articles on Gallup.com, discussed workplace topics in radio interviews and contributed to a feature article in Singapore Business Review. She also appears in Gallup educational webinars and leads the annual release of Gallup’s global workplace findings for Southeast Asia. Kanika supported the launch of the first State of the Japanese Workplace report, which provided data-driven insights for leaders and organisations in Japan. Before joining Gallup in 2015, Kanika worked as a senior consultant for a market research and consulting organisation in Singapore. She managed business development and worked with clients in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea and Japan. She has also lived and worked in India, where she managed clients and implementation for a renowned software solutions provider. Kanika is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. She earned an MBA with a focus in marketing from the SP Jain School of Global Management in Singapore and a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a focus on computer science from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Kanika is based in Singapore and is fluent in English and Hindi.

Russell Wong is a senior workplace advisor with Gallup. He works with organisations to improve business outcomes through employee engagement, workplace advisory services and business learning solutions. Russell begins by understanding each client’s needs, then applies Gallup analytics and advice to address workplace challenges. He partners with organisations across Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea and Greater China. He is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, where he graduated as valedictorian. Russell is based in Singapore. He is fluent in English and proficient in Mandarin.
