Gallup Culture Transformation Award
A strong culture is crucial for aligning employees and customers with the vision, mission and purpose of an organization. Winners of the new Gallup Culture Transformation Award have found a way to live out their culture daily and transformed a core element of the way they work to create a shared and sustainable vision for success with measurable effects for their people and business.
Transforming healthcare requires a remarkable effort and Highmark Health is actively working to accomplish the task by building a high-performing culture. In partnership with Gallup, this national health and wellness organization established four Core Behaviors to create a workforce that is engaged, aligned and inspired. With leadership buy-in and role modeling, clear definitions, goal setting and continuous listening efforts through census and pulse surveys, leadership has gained a measurable understanding of the organization's alignment with the Core Behaviors. Today, more than 35,000 employees at Highmark Health are aware of the Core Behaviors and use them as a guide to enact the aspirational culture.
Culture at WSFS Bank is best described by its strategy: Engaged Associates, living our culture, making a better life for all we serve. Associates deliver on that strategy by embracing a culture of "work, play, learn and care," which has helped WSFS stay a step ahead of its competition. In 2019, the bank nearly doubled its number of associates by acquiring Beneficial Bank and immediately went to work integrating the best of the two cultures.
WSFS partnered with Gallup to lead training sessions for Beneficial associates to provide basic education around associate and customer engagement. During the past year, WSFS completed systems and brand conversion as part of a very successful integration of Beneficial's customers and associates. WSFS scored in the top quartile of engagement in Gallup's database in its first associate engagement survey since the acquisition. The results and positive momentum positioned them well to execute on growth and synergy opportunities as the largest, full-service, full-product, locally headquartered bank in the greater Delaware Valley.
