Welcome to the Global Well-Being Study -- a community of more than 200,000 randomly selected individuals from 22 diverse countries helping researchers understand more about well-being around the world.

This is the first study of its kind, and we are excited for you to be a part of it. Gallup and researchers from Harvard University and Baylor University are leading this study to learn more about what factors contribute to a person's well-being. By collecting this information each year, researchers can better understand how a person's well-being changes over time.

Why was I invited to participate?
Your household was randomly selected from a list of households in your country. You and your household represent many other households - that's why your opinion is so important to this study.
How often will you contact me?
We will ask you to respond to one or two short surveys per year for the next few years. We may contact you a few additional times during the year to keep your contact information current.
I don't know much about the topics on your survey. Do you still want my opinion?
Yes, your opinion matters to us! You are an expert in what YOU believe and how YOU feel. Your experiences help us understand the opinions of people living in your country. This research will only work if it represents all different types of people.
How can I give you updated contact information?

How do you protect my personal information?
We will never release your personal information or release results in a way that would make it easy for someone to identify you. We work very hard to protect the privacy of your responses and any personal information that can identify you will be removed from the data before sharing the results.
What will you do with the results?
The survey findings will be shared with researchers for research purposes. Eventually, the results will be published in academic journals and the popular press. All survey findings will be provided without any personally identifiable information, such as your name or contact information. This information will be removed from the results and will not be shared with anyone.
