"I don't think I've ever had the same two days at Gallup, which I actually love and appreciate! I have the opportunity to do what I do best each day, and I appreciate the flexibility that Gallup gives each person to be able to do that."
Q: What do you do at Gallup?
A: I wear three hats at Gallup, which I love. 1) I am a Director of Consulting who is responsible for increasing the impact we have with our clients on the West Coast; 2) I help architect solutions for leaders and managers that enable them to drive the outcomes that help their organizations grow; 3) I am a Certified Strengths Coach who coaches leaders and facilitates workshops across the globe. My personal mission is to help leaders grow their personal brand, engage their teams and inspire excellent performance. Working across these three spaces means that every day looks a little bit differently, and I appreciate that variety.
Q: What made you want to join Gallup?
A: At the core of what really attracted me to Gallup was their focus on behavioral economics and the understanding of people when they are at their best. I was also excited about the opportunity for advancement. I have the opportunity to dictate and create the career path that I want, which I really, really love. And finally, it was their welcoming culture -- it feels like a family in a lot of ways. It was important for me to work in a culture that values people first, and when I was talking with Gallup associates, they were talking about their best friends at work and the strong relationships they have with their teams.
Q: Why do you enjoy working at Gallup?
A: The No. 1 reason that keeps me here is the impact our teams get to have with different organizations. Whether it's changing policies within a country because of our data, or it's helping a workplace become better because we help them figure out how to make their culture more inclusive, strengths-based, or engaged, we get to change the world a little bit every day, one person at a time.
Q: What is one of the most influential projects you've worked on at Gallup?
A: We know that quality data are critical to helping leaders to truly understand their populations and to choose the best course of action to inspire development and progress. I worked on a project with a former secretary of state and the World Bank focused on closing the gender data gap. We hosted an event in our D.C. office to encourage more collection, analysis and use of gender-specific data to help narrow gender gaps worldwide and improve the lives of women and girls everywhere. As a result of this research with us, the World Bank created a gender data site that includes surveys, statistics, analytics work and reference materials that cover data worldwide.
Q: What qualities do people need to be successful at Gallup?
A: You need to have clarity around what you want your career to be, and the ambition to create that path. We're a group of hardworking, driven people who really want to make a difference, but we have a lot of fun together too, so you have to have a desire to build great relationships with people.
