I've built a meaningful career over the years in non-profit services and higher education. From making $9.25 an hour on the work floor of a small-town nonprofit, to now coaching future business leaders at one of the world’s leading institutions, I know what it takes to get individuals and teams working together effectively toward a common goal. Over the course of my career I have taken on various roles in the non-profit sector, including hands-on support, managing teams, and leading programs.
Currently, I hold a leadership role at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where I focus on helping MBA candidates become future leaders through the use of CliftonStrengths® and individual programming. In addition to that, I am the Director of Duke University’s Fuqua on Board program where I establish relationships with local non-profits and facilitate programming as our student serve as non-voting board members to both learn from, and support our partnering organizations. Prior to my current roles, I worked in admissions, coaching and advising students as they set future goals to become future business leaders.
My educational background includes a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, which provide a strong foundation for my work. Outside of academia, I've been dedicated to volunteering with nationally recognized organizations, having offered assistance in poverty or disaster-stricken areas of the United States and Europe. These experiences have given me valuable insights into different cultures and the challenges people face in our ever-changing world.
For more than a decade, I've been using CliftonStrengths to improve my own career. Now, as a coach, I draw on my personal experiences and real-world examples from my work in non-profit services and higher education to help others develop intentionally. My goal is to empower individuals to thrive in their unique environments by providing them with the knowledge and tools they need to unlock their full potential.
