To be honest, I stumbled upon Gallup Strengths by “accident.”
After 20+ years of helping people find jobs, up-level their careers, start side gigs, and more, I launched a business called FaithfulCareerMoves.com to formalize the process, widen my sphere of influence, and help people find the careers they were born to do.
I enrolled in the Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach training program to add some sort of credential to my background. That’s it. I wanted my bio to sound more official. Little did I know that the experience would be transformative.
Since I teach clients how to create “accomplishments-based” resumes, I thought “strengths-based” coaching would be the same. I was wrong, but not entirely.
Strengths-based coaching helps people discover what they naturally do best, learn how to develop their talents into strengths, and use those results to maximize their potential in any area of their lives, for the rest of their lives.
An accomplishments-based resume is one of the tools I use to help people identify and describe the exceptional ways they show up to work every day so they can align their strengths with job descriptions and business opportunities in the marketplace.
Strengths is therapeutic, healing, empowering, and ongoing. A resume is strategic, tactical and as-needed. Done together, these tools create a practical application of Gallup’s “Name it, claim it, aim it” model as it pertains to helping people find the careers they were born to do. Offering both has exponentially increased the insight I can offer my clients as well as the level of confidence they feel going into the job search, education, or business-building process. Many are also moved to pivot away from jobs that are depleting with a newfound understanding of why.

For me, finding Gallup Strengths was clearly no accident.
