The Gallup Panel: Be Heard
Gallup has been researching the best way to do surveys for over 75 years. We're one of the most trusted sources for public opinion, but we couldn't do the work without people like you.
The Gallup Panel is an exclusive community of individuals from across the United States who share their experiences, opinions, and advice on a wide variety of topics.
Joining the Panel will allow you the opportunity to inform the world and guide the decision-making of business leaders, government officials, news organizations, and others who need a pulse on what people really care about. You also receive rewards, such as gift cards, just for joining and more each time you share your voice with us.
If you received an invitation to join and want to learn more, this short video provides additional information.

FAQs
I don't follow current events. Do you still want my opinion?
Yes! Your opinion matters to us. In fact, most Americans (and most of our Panel members) aren't experts in current events. But you are an expert in what you believe and how you feel. Your experiences help us understand the opinions of all Americans. The Gallup Panel only works if it represents everyone from all walks of life.
Why did my household get invited to participate?
Your address was randomly selected from a list of all the addresses in your state. You and your household represent many other households in your state.
How much time will it take?
We will ask you to respond to about two or three surveys per month. Most will take you 10-15 minutes to complete, but we'll let you know if a survey is going to be longer than normal. We know that our members are busy, so if you can't respond right away, we may send you a reminder. If you can't complete the survey, that's OK! We'll be sure to include you in the next one!
Will you share my personal info?
No. We will never share your personal information, email address, or any of your individual responses with anyone, unless you give us explicit permission. We will never share, sell or distribute any personal information about you with anyone outside of Gallup.
Do I get paid for completing Gallup Panel surveys?
To thank you for your time, the Gallup Panel offers small rewards for participating in surveys. After you complete each survey, you'll be able to pick the reward you want, including electronic gift cards to stores and restaurants.
Your participation is completely voluntary and not at the direction or control of Gallup. Any incentive you receive is not calculated based upon the time spent in completing the survey or any hourly rate. It is merely a token of our appreciation in you voluntarily sharing your opinions.
How will you send the surveys?
We will email you when a new Gallup survey is available. You can also log in to the Gallup Panel member website anytime to view your available surveys.
The Gallup Panel member website lets you access your surveys and rewards in one place. You can manage your survey participation, redeem points for gift cards or charitable donations, and stay updated on new opportunities to contribute. This user-friendly platform is designed to make your survey experience easier and more efficient.
What will you ask me about?
A wide range of topics! Gallup Panel survey topics include lifestyle, education, employment, health and wellbeing, political opinions, shopping preferences and other aspects of American life. All responses are kept confidential. You can also share ideas for other survey topics you think are important!
How long will I be a member of the Gallup Panel?
You can be a Gallup Panel member for as long as you would like and as long as you participate in at least a few surveys a year. It's OK if you are busy and miss a few — we'll still send you invites. If you decide you no longer want to be a panel member — that's OK, too! We appreciate any amount of time you are able to give.
Can I see the survey results?
Gallup regularly shares the results of surveys on our news website: news.gallup.com. Survey findings are also frequently reported in major and local news outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg News Service, CBS, ABC, Los Angeles Times and The Hill. We also send panel members an e-newsletter that highlights survey results.
How do you protect my privacy?
Gallup will never release your personal information or release results in a way that would make it easy for someone to identify you. We work very hard to protect the privacy of your responses. In our 80 years of operation, Gallup has never had a security incident that compromised the personal information of our respondents. As a research organization, Gallup maintains a much higher standard than retailers and other types of businesses. We are ethically obligated to protect your responses and safeguard all of the data we collect.
For more information, you can read Gallup's privacy statement.
Why do you need my contact and demographic information?
We ask for your contact information so we can send you survey invitations. Your personal contact information is never shared outside of Gallup and will never be released with any of the survey results.
We collect demographic information (such as age, gender, education and race/ethnicity) so we can understand how different groups feel about important issues. For example, we might compare how men and women think about the job performance of the president. We also use this information so we can send surveys that are relevant to you. For example, if we have a survey for parents of teenagers, we'll only send that survey to households with a teenage child.
I haven't received any survey invitations or emails from you. Is this normal?
Yes, it's normal to go several weeks or even a few months without receiving a survey invitation. Some months are busier for surveys than others.
If you have never received an email from us or feel it's been too long since your last email, check your junk or spam email folder for messages from galluppanel@gallupmail.com. You should also log in to the Gallup Panel member website and click the Survey tab to check to see if you have any surveys available.
If you still have questions or want to check whether we have recently sent you any survey invitations, you can contact us for assistance.
Who sponsors your surveys?
Gallup funds many studies, but we also have many survey sponsors. We work with local, state and federal governments, researchers at major colleges and universities, non-profit organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and public and private businesses. Your personal information is never shared with these sponsoring organizations. Gallup is committed to reporting unbiased opinions and does not work with partisan political organizations or advocacy groups.
How do other members of my household join?
When you sign up to be a Gallup Panel member, you will have the opportunity to add other adult members of your household. Anyone in your household who is age 18 and older is eligible to join -- the more, the merrier! The only requirement is that every member must have their own email address.
Why did I get invited to take a survey, but my spouse didn't?
Most of our surveys are sent to a random selection of panel members, not the entire panel. This means you may get invited to a survey that other members of your household are not asked to participate in.
I have a few friends who want to participate. Can they join?
Only if they are randomly selected by Gallup to participate; it's the luck of the draw! This helps us ensure that our results are scientific and representative.
How do I use the member website?
Gallup Panel members can access all their surveys and rewards through the Gallup Panel member website. By logging in, members can manage their survey participation and redeem points for gift cards or charitable donations.
