  • Learn what a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach discovered about excellence on his CliftonStrengths journey, and how he is using those insights to help others.

On a recent Called to Coach: India Edition, we spoke with Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Samir Parikh.

Samir first discovered his strengths three years ago when his organization began incorporating a strengths-based philosophy. He earned his certification earlier this year, and he said that even though he already owned his talents, he gained new and eye-opening insights into the living and breathing aspects of his strengths.

Samir says that from his experiences, most people he has coached have accepted strengths-based development, but it's still important to help them truly buy in and believe in it. Anyone can take the assessment and discover their Top 5 strengths. But as coaches, you must help them understand that optimal success comes from focusing on and developing their strongest talents.

Before taking the CliftonStrengths assessment, many people think they know their strengths. While they may be right on some levels, they typically view their strengths as physical competencies, such as negotiating a deal or being able to effectively manage a team. Although these are things people can be good at, the innate talents within each person make up these qualities with which we excel.

To learn more about Samir and his coaching experiences and expertise, watch the full video above.

Samir Parikh's Top 5 CliftonStrengths are Competition, Harmony, Significance, Communication and Activator.
