  • Listen to Maika Leibbrandt describe her journey as a CliftonStrengths coach, her insights on strengths and her love of developing the potential within people.

On a recent Called to Coach, we spoke with Senior Education Consultant Maika Leibbrandt. Maika partners with leaders to improve the engagement of their followers and customers all over the world.

When Maika began her coaching career, she said she didn't initially care for it. She was overwhelmed by the responsibility, and she wasn't confident in her techniques to practice successful strengths coaching, even though she had the tools to be successful.

To overcome her uncertainty, Maika learned to hone her coaching abilities by intentionally learning about what it takes to be a great strengths coach. She sat down with mentors and other strengths coaches to pick their brains about coaching best practices. She also read a lot of coaching books to gain a better understanding of what she calls "the art form of coaching." Since then, Maika says she loves what she does -- namely, developing the potential within people.

When asked if she enjoyed working with some themes or combination of themes more than others, Maika said that she loves them all. Although she used to have biases toward one theme or another, over time she has found that "every theme is a cluster of beautiful behavior that has its own unique needs."
