Webcast Details

  • Gallup Called to Coach Webcast Series
  • Season 3, Episode 18
  • Learn how you can be a CliftonStrengths advocate to your organization's leadership and through strengths can seek productive solutions to interpersonal issues.

On a recent Called to Coach: India Edition, we spoke with Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach John K. John.

Shortly after attending the Accelerated Strengths Coaching course in India, John began coaching individuals in his organization. He said the positive response he received to this new method of development was overwhelming. Within about a month, John had nearly a dozen people he coached, using strengths-based development on a regular basis.

Incorporating strengths into an organization often requires sign-off from executive leadership, which can be a significant hurdle for some companies. John said he hasn't felt much resistance within his organization since bringing the idea to leadership. He was confident that as soon as they saw the potential impact strengths could have on the organization, they would give their buy-in. And he was right.

John has also found strengths to be helpful in the way he interacts with others. Prior to knowing his strengths, he would occasionally get upset if someone didn't act or think similarly to him. Now through the language of strengths, he can better understand people and their nuances and he looks for interpersonal solutions via more productive means, rather than writing off others' differences.

John K. John's Top 5 CliftonStrengths are Positivity, Ideation, Connectedness, Empathy and Futuristic.
