Making Your Mondays Good With CliftonStrengths

Webcast Details

  • Gallup Called to Coach Webcast Series
  • Season 3, Episode 8
  • Learn about Good Monday Consulting, an organization that a strengths coach started, and how this coach helps clients develop their strengths to maturity.

On a recent Called to Coach: Singapore Edition, we spoke with Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Joseph Tan.

Joseph embraced the CliftonStrengths assessment when he discovered the impact it would have on his clients. Instead of focusing on learned skills, which can hamper an individual's growth and development, CliftonStrengths helped him facilitate conversations that revolve around natural talents. The ability to help others overcome growing pains by focusing on what they do best was Joseph's call to coach.

Talking about how strengths can be used in their raw and mature form, Joseph said that it's very important to never use the CliftonStrengths assessment results as an excuse not to do something. This is an example of using strengths in their rawest form. In order to develop strengths into maturity, individuals must learn how to use their Top 5 strengths within the context of other people's strengths. Strength immaturity can be overcome when people find a way to use their strengths to comfortably connect with those around them.

Joseph has taken the information he learned from Gallup's coaching courses and applied them to his business practice. His coaching and consulting practice, Good Monday Consulting, got its moniker from Monday's reputation as the bleakest and least motivating day of the week. Joseph wanted to change that perception, saying it's time to start the week off on a positive note!

Joseph Tan's Top 5 CliftonStrengths are Connectedness, Strategic, Belief, Learner and Responsibility.
