Leveraging CliftonStrengths for Life Change

Webcast Details

  • Gallup Called to Coach Webcast Series
  • Season 3, Episode 3
  • Learn what it means to use your strengths -- or to coach others to use their strengths -- more productively to reach the life change you (or they) want.

On a recent episode of Called to Coach, we spoke with Stosh Walsh, Learning and Organizational Development Senior Consultant at Alliant Credit Union.

Stosh began his strengths journey about 15 years ago when his mentor gave him a copy of Now, Discover Your Strengths (currently available as StrengthsFinder 2.0). After reading the book and discovering his Top 5 strengths, Stosh knew that he wanted to help others do the same. Shortly thereafter, he was working at Gallup, helping people discover and develop their own natural talents. Stosh now works at Alliant Credit Union helping employees harness their strengths to improve engagement and increase membership.

Offering up some advice for coaches, Stosh says it's important to remember that it isn't your job to figure out what others want to change in their lives (e.g., career life, home life, etc.), but rather how they can most effectively use their strengths to make those changes. Although some individuals may need guidance to identify which areas they wish to improve upon, the key is to help them rework those area of their lives so they can use their strengths more productively.

Stosh refuses to view people as they are; instead, he looks at people in terms of what they could be. He has a firm belief that people are always moving forward, and each day they have the potential to be better than they were the day before. Stosh says that his calling in life is to meet people at different intersections in life and help guide them to become the best version of themselves.

To hear more about Stosh and how he uses strengths to help people live happier, more productive lives, watch the full video or listen to the audio above.

Stosh D. Walsh's Top 5 CliftonStrengths are Responsibility, Belief, Achiever, Input and Learner.
