  • Learn how CliftonStrengths can help bridge gaps between people, in terms of how they work and view the world, and can enhance workplace efficiency.

On a recent Called to Coach, we spoke with Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Joe Bertotto.

Joe discovered his strengths in 2004 while working for one of Gallup's clients. He had the opportunity to attend the Great Manager program, which not only gave him insights into his own strengths, but allowed him to see the power of strengths in other individuals and teams.

Organizations thrive when they put their people in positions where they are most likely to succeed. Joe outlines how complementary partnerships are crucial to the health of a company. For example, some people flourish when they get to start conversations with strangers, while others are more successful when they get to sit at a desk crunching numbers. Placing individuals in roles that aren't in line with their strengths only sets them up for failure.

Many people struggle to understand how and why others around them view the world differently. Strengths are the perfect tool to bridge that gap and help individuals justify their views and actions when others fail to appreciate their differences. In a team setting, this interpersonal connection can bring individuals closer, allowing them to work together more efficiently.

Joe Bertotto's Top 5 CliftonStrengths are Focus, Learner, Achiever, Positivity and Maximizer.
