Become a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach
In one week, you'll learn how to understand your strengths in a deeper, more meaningful way and build the skills, tools, and confidence to coach others to thrive at work and in life.
The World’s Greatest Untapped Resource Is Human Potential
Most people want to grow. They want to perform better, build stronger relationships, make better decisions and contribute in ways that matter.
But many do not know how to name what they naturally do best. Without that clarity, even the most motivated people struggle to apply their talents intentionally in their work, relationships, leadership and daily life.
That is where great coaching makes the difference.
That’s Why Gallup Built the Global Strengths Coach Course
The Gallup Global Strengths Coach course is an in-depth, hands-on coaching program that gives participants the science, expertise, tools, techniques, practice and experience they need to positively influence people’s lives through strengths-based development.
During the course, participants learn how to help clients:
- better understand their talents and strengths
- move forward when they are stuck
- apply their strengths to reach goals
- build stronger teams and manager relationships
- create practical plans for growth and performance
During this course, you will learn to:
- deepen your understanding of the 34 CliftonStrengths themes
- develop your own strengths and use them to become a more effective coach
- help clients appreciate their unique talents and apply them to goals and challenges
- coach managers to boost individual and team performance
- help teams use their collective strengths to collaborate effectively
- teach teams to appreciate and trust others' talents to achieve goals together
What Makes This Course so Powerful?
-
It is grounded in Gallup's research.
Gallup has spent decades studying human potential, performance and what makes people effective in the real world. The course draws from Gallup's ground-breaking strengths research and gives participants practical ways to use those insights in coaching conversations. -
It is hands-on and highly interactive.
Participants learn by doing. They observe coaching conversations, evaluate what works, practice coaching techniques, develop questions, work with tools, and apply the learning through individual, paired, and small-group activities.
-
It focuses on individuals, managers and teams.
The course prepares coaches to do more than lead one-on-one discovery conversations. Participants learn how to coach managers, support teams, introduce strengths to groups and help organizations begin building strengths-based cultures. -
It includes continued development after the course.
Participants receive a 60-minute coaching session with a Gallup strengths coach. They also get access to post-course content that reinforces course concepts through coaching examples, activities, exercises and resources.
Four Days That Will Change How You Develop People
-
Day 1
CliftonStrengths and the Role of a Coach
Start with yourself. You’ll explore what makes strengths-based coaching distinct, revisit your own CliftonStrengths results with a new perspective, and practice the foundational conversations that build trust and support real development. -
Day 2
Appreciating and Aiming Strengths
Study the 34 themes more closely and learn how they interact. You’ll practice techniques that help people move from awareness to appreciation and then to purposeful, goal-directed action. -
Day 3
Coaching Team Dynamics Through Strengths
Expand the conversation to teams. You'll explore how CliftonStrengths themes combine and interact, discover what different themes bring to partnerships and teams, and develop strategies to help groups use their collective strengths. -
Day 4
Leading and Coaching Teams Through Strengths
Apply strengths at the team level. You'll learn how to introduce CliftonStrengths to a team, facilitate strengths-based experiences and coach managers to lead with greater awareness. You'll leave with a clear plan for your coaching journey ahead.
In-Person Attendees: Additional Half-Day Development
For in-person cohorts, a final half-day gives participants more time to practice, reflect and prepare to coach with confidence.

That is a strong starting point. This course helps you coach people to apply, develop, and use their strengths in real situations, relationships, roles, and goals.
“I’m not a professional coach.”
You do not need to be. The course is for people who develop others and lead coaching conversations, including leaders, managers, educators and professional coaches.
“I’m not sure I’m ready to coach teams or managers.”
That is why the course includes practice with individuals, managers and teams. You will learn how to introduce strengths to groups and help teams use their collective talents.
“I want practical tools, not just theory.”
The course includes coaching kits, worksheets, theme tools, discussion cards, team activities and resources that support real coaching practice.
"I've been coaching with CliftonStrengths on my own and getting results."
Informal experience gives you a strong foundation. But participants consistently report that the course takes their coaching to a level they couldn't reach on their own.

The Value Lasts Long After the Course
Being a strengths coach equips you to deliver the value of strengths-based development. Whether you’re working inside an organization or as an independent coach, your investment can continue to pay off in many ways.
If you develop people inside an organization:
Gallup Global Strengths Coach certification gives internal coaches, talent leaders, and strengths champions the resources to help employees, managers, and teams apply their strengths where performance matters most.
Certified coaches help organizations build a shared language of talent and strengths-based development. That shared language can turn strengths from individual insight into measurable gains in engagement, performance and business outcomes.
If you are an independent coach:
Gallup Global Strengths Coach certification gives independent coaches a recognized credential, a proven coaching framework and the credibility to strengthen their professional relationships and reach more clients.
Many coaches use the certification to expand their individual, team and organizational coaching work. Coaching sessions can help them recoup their course investment, while special pricing on CliftonStrengths assessments helps certified coaches continue offsetting costs long after the course ends.
