Maximizer: Learning to Love All 34 Talent Themes

Webcast Details

  • Gallup Theme Thursday Webcast Series
  • Season 1, Maximizer
  • Learn how themes form the core of CliftonStrengths and how to understand and appreciate your own -- and others' -- strengths, as we focus on Maximizer.

On a recent episode of Theme Thursday Season 1, we discussed the Maximizer theme with Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Adriane Wilson, and Gallup Advanced Learning Consultant Curt Liesveld.

Maximizers have and bring to others a focus on quality. They naturally prefer working with and for the best. They create strengths within groups by enabling each person to do what he or she naturally does best. Their drive toward excellence can lead to a new standard of success.

Those who have high Maximizer have a strong orientation toward and commitment to excellence that leads to quality outcomes. The inner compass of these individuals continually points to quality and a desire for quality in all areas of life.

Maximizer falls under the Influencing domain and inhabits roughly 17% of all individuals' Top 5 strengths. The Strategic and Achiever themes are most likely to be paired with Maximizer, while Restorative is the least likely theme to be found in the same Top 5 as Maximizer. Those with Restorative fix things that are broken, but Maximizers tend to take things that are good and make them great.

From the Post-Show

After the show, Curt and Adriane discussed the differences between Ideation and Maximizer, and how they can work together. They noted that those who have high Ideation can conjure up an idea, but the idea might become futile if someone like a Maximizer doesn't run with it.

To learn more about the Maximizer theme and how people like Adriane use it in their everyday lives, watch the full video above.

Adriane Wilson's Top 5 CliftonStrengths are Achiever, Maximizer, Analytical, Intellection and Deliberative.
